I served as the editor and co-producer for this episode of the Pac-12 Networks original series Our Stories. Produced entirely during the COVID-19 pandemic, the documentary was created through a fully remote workflow, relying on close collaboration with Arizona State Sun Devils's athletic department to capture interviews and b-roll. Despite the logistical challenges, we were able to craft a compelling, character-driven story from hundreds of miles away.
The feature follows Jackson He, exploring his journey from China to college football and the significance of becoming the first Chinese-born player to score a touchdown in NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision history during the 2020 season. Beyond the milestone, the documentary highlights He's role as a trailblazer and role model for Asian Americans in football, showcasing the perseverance, representation, and determination that define his story.
